"LifeStorage took over Raceway Storage not too long ago and ever since they've taken over, things have gone downhill. This location is targeted for theft on an almost weekly basis. My unit was broken into twice in two weeks and the only assurance I got from the front office was that I could get a new lock. The access gate had been broken for weeks, we weren't made aware. Whoever is breaking in is doing it the same way every time and targeting 20+ units by drilling out the locks and opening doors with a crowbar. I am essentially paying to have my stuff stolen since LifeStorage isn't making us aware of any deterrents being put in place or offering any sort of recovery or assistance to those affected."
"If I could give zero I would. If you store here, expect to have your items stolen. Do not let the gate or locking doors fool you. This facility is constantly broken into, they are cutting power and then drilling locks out. Do not recommend!! Do not store here."

The gates been broken several times since New Year’s Eve and there has been 2 break ins. When they know the gate is broken during business hours they choose to leave for the day with the gate wide open giving access to any randoms to come in… you think customers are gonna be more mad that the gate is locked SECURELY after business hours or the gate being left wide open for all these thrived to come rob our property!?????? DO NOT GET A UNIT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR TRUST BROKEN, AND YOUR BELONGINGS STOLEN."

"If I could leave zero star, I would. No security and they do not care. Thieves walk over to access the main power switch and turn it off. That gives them unlimited time and no cameras to worry about. Do not rent from these people. Rent increase with no notice and office is never staffed. Multiple break ins in the past two months."
"Dishonest management. Closed during hours of operation without proper notice. Adding locks to your unit when there shouldn't be one. Not honoring agreements due to lack of knowledge in contractual agreements for obtaining storage units. Lack of vetting individuals by allowing them to rent using fake identification, allowing them to case out people moving in/out of their storage units. Dirty diapers, empty bullet casings, fast food bags left on the ground. Crap that people don't want left on premises. The electric door broken more than once leaving access to anyone to just walk in. Auburn location is not good. Try another location."
"There gates are always broken down and stuck open so just anyone can drive in without a code. Thats probably why they get broke into all the time. Plus I went there 3 days in a row to make a payment and no one has been there. Its been closed everytime. So I called the general lifestorage number and they said that I could pay at the other auburn sister store. So I went there and they were closed too. Due to staffing issues. For the price we pay monthly they should at least keep our belongings safe by fixing the gate problems."

"Look on, This place is a joke, I have been renting a 10 x 10 indoor unit for years, Last September my until was broken into, Anything worth money was taken, Nothing caught on camera, Nothing from so called security logs helped, Police had been called and a report taken, Not only has the slide lock on the door not been fixed, But nothing ever came from Life Storage's main office, No kind of insurance or even a reduction in rent, Now they want more money, I'm done. If you want to risk using this place that is up to you, But I do not nor will I ever recommend it to anyone."

Investment groups buy up storage facilities knowing nothing about the biz and they absolutely do not care for the customer.
Since they took over, my rent has gone up dramatically. WAY above what others in the area charge.
There office is open whenever.
You can't pay over the phone.
If no one is in the office, there is no way to get a hold of a person for emergencies,help, or questions.
There has been a revolving door of "managers" (that says a lot about a company).
Gate sticks open.
Security issues - they don't care about your belongings. For what they charge, this should be the most secure facility there is. (Many events have happened due to their lax security)
They changed my code to get in without even telling me.
There is absolutely no communication with customers about anything.
This could be such a nice facility if it wasn't just part of someones investment portfolio."

"This storage unit is clean, well organized, staff is very helpful, and on move in day I found carts to load my stuff and move it through garage doors on the building into an elevator. My unit was broken into & burglarized, and all my expensive equipment needed for my line of work, was stolen and there is no security cameras on this side of the unit.
Over $6,000 worth of tools that included Milwaukee power tools, hand tools, etc, were stolen. I am self employed, so these equipment is the way I earn a living, and now, they’re gone.
For a storage unit to promote safety and security, when I came to them about what happened, they shrugged their shoulders and told me, sorry, & they didn’t have any cameras on that side of the storage facility, so I was out of luck.
Here’s my question for those that store their stuff there: if MY unit didn’t have any cameras on it, who is to say there is cameras on any of the units? It’s obvious that don’t follow through on what they preach and if anyone is looking for a place to store their stuff, I will be sure to mention my experience with this place.
Insurance is also very difficult to work with in the event of a loss, there are lots of loopholes so please read before accepting their terms. After paying $3000 in storage fees, and losing $6000 in stolen goods, without any help on even trying to help find the culprit or why I was targeted, I wouldn’t recommend storing your stuff here.

"Today is 27th 2021 I came like usually to my storage and I figure out somebody change lock for my storage get in GuessWhat I call this company nobody answer and that’s the worktime 2 PM I called two times customer service they are in New York they say we can send information about you to the manager to call you nobody call me nobody give me any note they will do . I have an auto pay Customer service says you’re a good. I don’t know what to think"
"Definitely not the same level of service, or security since Lifestorage took over Raceway. On more than one occasion I have seen gates wide open. My access was recently blocked due to "late" Payment (10 days). I confirmed with my bank that Payment was sent by the due date. Maybe someone needs to go check the mail?"

We suffered an apartment complex fire, walked into life storage and didn't have much expectations of customer service.
To our delight, Nani was so professional and helpful despite our lack of knowledge of our own needs. She wrote down a list of units and prices we might need and had us touring within 5 minutes of entering the office.
She made the entire experience super fast and absolutely not one hiccup or headache.
We even had time to chat and bond during the whole process because her ability to multitask was top notch.
Prices of the storage was more than fair, facilities are heated and very secure. Key code needed to enter the gates, and the same key code is needed to enter the inner buildings, which are heated and very clean. They have large trolleys and large elevators for convenience.
They have security cameras that show on monitors inside the office so clients can physically see that they have security measures in place to protect our property which I really appreciate.
Overall, best customer service we have experienced during one of the hardest weeks of our life. Thank you Nani, you made a hard day a little easier."

I arrived at 230pm and no one was there. Drove to next nearest location where I met Cheyanna the "manager" who just came from the closed location. When I asked why she closed early (before the sign said) she lies and says she called everyone to let them know they closed early. I asked why she lieing because I never got a call or message she tells me to leave or will call police. I've put in a formal complaint with corporate and her "actual" boss Greg since she tried to claim she is the head honcho of all stores in WA and she don't have a supervisor she is the supervisor"

"I rented my unit online- becuase we were cleaning out an apartment after a death in the family. Very easy to secure a space. Very secure. Very helpful onsite manager. Easy access to Highway 18. Compliments from the moving company about how good the storage was compared to other storage facilities they had to move items into and out of. Great all around!"
"Both my parents died within a week of each other and I needed a place to store some misc items until I could make room for them at home. Looked online and they had an online only promotion for a free month after renting storage space online and paying first month. Which I did. Only to find out that the space that I was directed to rent for the online promotion wasn’t included in the promotion?
So why was I directed to rent this space online if it wasn’t apart of the promotion. NO ONE CAN TELL ME THAT!
First I was told I already got the month free because I didn’t pay full price for the space I rented. Which I did. Then was given the run around. Told I would be called back. NOTHING. AND OF COURSE THEY WERE CLOSED FOR 2 days and when they were open again for me to come in I had to pay late fees etc etc.
SO ENDED UP PAYING $93 for a months rent on a space that was suppose to be $59 first month and free the next."
