First of all I want to say the manager at the facility I used, went above and beyond in helping me with my needs during the time I rented outdoor parking space. He did this despite the fact the company itself put him “out to hang so to speak” in at least 2 ways I could see. First of all, the outdoor parking spaces u rent from life storage are not the size that they sell you. A 10’x20’ is not really a 10’x20’, more like 9’x18’! Take your measuring tape & you will see for yourself! The managers are trained by profit driven corporate to say “that’s just an estimate”, and I’m sure it’s in the small print somewhere, because there’s LOTS of that when you rent a unit from them. Life Storage or whatever u call urself now….Come on man, don’t deceive ur customers, if I rent a 10’x 20’ that’s what I should get. I’m surprised that the Tx. Attorney Generals Office, Consumer Affairs Division hasn’t looked into this at the least, deceptive business practice. While I was renting my space, the facility entrance hours were changed to allow entrance from 9pm to 10pm. I tried on 4 different occasions to get in after 9pm, after the new hour signs were put up, & was denied each time. Wasted gas & time driving over there each time. When I asked the manager about this, he was apologetic, but said corporate told him to put the signs up, but then didn’t change the gate software to allow for the extra hour of customer entrance. They left him out to hang answering questions about why sign didn’t match what was really happening with gate entrance times. Life Storage or self space storage or whatever they end up calling themselves has some work to do to ever earn my business again. Corporate, don’t leave the little person out to do your dirty work, so to speak, very unethical business model, which most customers can easily identify & don’t approve of. Com on man!!
