When we reached out to the manger about it when she was alerted to the late fees and how to resolve the situation, he instead kept trying to differ blame instead of just apologizing for the inconvenience and explaining how to fix the issue. She has reached out to the main office about the situation with no response from them."

"I had a horrible experience with this storage facility that used to be called Uncle Bobs Self Storage and right before they transitioned into Life Storage. When I rented my unit I dealt with Jean Valentine the former manager and she and her husband made a few prejudice remarks about my black male friends that were helping me move into my unit. Jean also lied to me and my female friend that was with me when I rented my unit by stating that they had no issues with critters and mice getting into the storage units. I later experienced bugs and mice getting into my units and the management not doing too much about it when I complained and discovered the critters. I also had a problem with a big wasp hive being right above my unit and I complained about it many times to Jean(the old manager) and the new manager Lisa and they didnt do nothing about it.
These storage units are very over priced and are not quality units for the money that is asked for the units. I also remember Jean and her staff used to harass me for my payment for my unit. They would call me two to three times a day before my payment was due and after. They also would send multiple emails and texts. I understand that they wanted their money but constantly sending texts emails and phone calls is annoying. I dont mind friendly reminders
Lisa and the Ohio District manager were very nasty towards me when I called the national customer service line and asked if I could get a late charged refunded after I tried paying my bill on time when I was in the hospital. There was some technical difficulties with their website that prevented me from paying my bill. So when I asked Lisa the manager about this she told me to call the national customer service number because she believed the district doesnt allow refunds anymore. So I did that and explained the problem. A few days after I done this Lisa the manager put a wet termination letter on my unit door on dated the same day that I called the national customer service number asking if I could get a refund for my late fees. She and the letter alleged that I was being a trouble maker and Uncle Bobs no longer wanted me as a customer. I tried calling Lisa and the District manager about this matter and they were very nasty towards me and kept cutting me off when I was trying to have intelligent dialogue with them about the matter. They also made up lies on my character to support that I was a' trouble maker' . Despite me being a good customer and giving them thousands of dollars for my storage unit they wanted me out for simply asking for a few problems to be fixed. I feel they may have treated me like this because of I am a person of color. I also talked to several people that were of color and they told me that they had nasty experiences with Uncle Bobs/Life Storage. I hope that the company has change its prejudice views and accepts all people from all backgrounds."

"I gave 1 * because of the action I received. But what is unexplainable is how do a company lock up your storage until you make a payment after you tell them you are closing your storage. I called so the lady I clean out my storage and I then I need it anymore. I mean I do not need or am I using this storage. So I asked if they can stop the payments because I shouldn't have to pay for storage that I am not using. So they lock up the storage and tell me that I need to pay for that month. And for the next month if they don't get the lock off. This is ridiculous ridiculous and it doesn't make any sense. What just happened is they made a circle to take money from innocent people."
