Your Guide to Self Storage in Raleigh
If you’re looking for self storage in the Raleigh area near Cary, Morrisville, Apex, Durham or Wake Forest, you’ve come to the right place! Life Storage is proud to serve Raleigh and its surrounding areas, home to some of the fastest growing and safest areas in the entire state of North Carolina.
Previously Uncle Bob's, our climate controlled and standard self storage units have called Raleigh their home since 1985. Today, we have a total of nine clean, beautiful facilities in the area. In addition to our presence in the capital city, we also have Life Storage locations conveniently located throughout Raleigh-Durham. We even have facilities within close proximity to world renowned universities Duke University and North Carolina State University.
Climate Controlled vs. Standard Storage Units in Raleigh
To help keep your belongings at the right temperature all year round—cool in the summer and warm in the winter—we offer climate controlled spaces at nearly every Raleigh facility. Most people prefer climate controlled storage so they can store items just like they would at home.
For those who don’t plan to use their storage unit for an extended period of time, we also offer standard self storage units. Looking for storage for your business? Need drive-up access to your belongings? You might want to opt for one of our standard storage units, located outside.
Since the majority of our customers are able to make our normal access hours work with their schedules, our facilities typically aren’t open 24 hours. If you need a little flexibility, we do allow 24 hour access when it is required in certain scenarios, like a business owner who requires access to their space around the clock. For details, be sure to discuss with your store manager.

Interesting Things to Know About Raleigh
The climate here in Raleigh typically brings in people from all over the country, or the world, for that matter. Seeing as the Raleigh/Durham International Airport is central to both Raleigh & Durham (usually a less than a 30 minute drive from any suburb), this makes a lot of sense.
It does get hot in the summer and cold in the winter here, but luckily it doesn’t get too extreme for long periods of time. Another great thing about this area is that you’re a couple hours’ drive to either the Atlantic Ocean or the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Research Triangle Park, or RTP as it is called, is another popular area where people often move for a job. This is where many tech, health and research companies reside, like IBM, Bayer, Pfizer, SAS, Cisco and Glaxo-Smith Klein, just to name a few of the larger ones.
I highly recommend checking out the hundreds of micro-breweries here in Raleigh and many of the excellent restaurants that can be found throughout Raleigh-Durham. Durham also has one of the Top 5 Performing Arts Centers in the country, rivaling even those on Broadway.
