"I have been a customer with Life Storage for several years. Thank goodness for LASHANA COLLINS and her never ending dedication to Life Storage! Many times while at this business, I notice Lashana is either working diligently with customers or maintaining the building to ensure it is clean...actually I will say she makes a point of it being close to spotless! On several occasions, I have needed assistance with renting additional units, purchasing merchandise and Lashana would stay late (past closing time), to assist me. On a side note, several months ago, I wrote a review for Lashana and it went on YELP. I wasn't sure she would be recognized for her focus and commitment to her job. Recently I have been there often, and Lashana truly deserves the credit for the outstanding employee she is! If I had an opening in my company I would strive to hire someone who is as passionate about their job as Lashana. It's great to know there are still people who LOVE their job.

"Prior to my issue I honestly didn’t have any problem here. However, I am currently waiting on upper Management to assist, have sought legal guidance from a civil law attorney and have filed a complaint with the NC DOJ office of Josh Stein. Be very careful with the manager Shanna. I have learned she was not honest nor was honest or thorough in her move to quickly auction my unit. Note, absolutely no letter was sent (certified nor otherwise). Per the NC Gov he amended the law and allowed e-mail to be allowed for formal notice, no email was sent. Per Shanna a voice mail was left… confused bc at the time my phone wasn’t on. That said, I am working to alert the buyer and working to find a complete solution to avert further action against this company. My unit head no value financially. But my family urns, grave momentos, my family death clothes and other cultural significant items and personal photos should not be in the hands of anyone not associated with my family nor tribal artifacts. Im disturbed at the level of inconsistencies and lack of care taken in following the state requirements needed to happen before selling a unit. The renter still has rights, had I learned I missed a proper notice of alert of auction would have seen me promptly taking care of whatever was needed to claim my property. Initially I believed Shanna was on the up and up, felt she was honest in our communications. After spending days filing escalated complaints, I have gleaned and uncovered just how dishonest Shanna was when handling my issue. I believe the assumption was Im destitute and would not follow up or question. Tbh when I learned of this I made contact with well over the costs, in cash and a planned mover to empty unit. IMO if you need storage I suggest researching another company, and at the bare min another location. Be very clear, im honest and adult enough to take an earned loss. Meaning I was very honest with Shanna and very transparent during our dealings when I said I needed to get my items as the monthly was something I couldn’t sustain. Had I learned or saw the notices were sent and I failed to see them timely, or choose to ignore, I would have to accept this deeply personally significant loss and would have had no right to complain and my experience would not have been tainted and unsatisfactory. Id never complain against Ms Shanna for doing her job thoroughly. It would have been my fault for ignoring or failing to act when proper notice was seen. Nobody deserves frivolous complaints made against them in this day and time for doing their job. Im not a ‘Karen’. I take losses I earn. And although I own I was delinquent on my bill, even the broke and delinquent renter is afforded rights and the legal right to be afforded proper written notice of the company intended auction and timeframe. Im deeply disturbed. This has created deeper issues that have tanked my efforts to recover from a summer of hardships as a result of being quickly moved when my landlord of 10+ yr had to sell. I’ve been in limbo purgatory while seeking affordable housing in the area. My property had no other reason to be in a storage. Ive never had a need. I need accountability, and honest swift resolve. I pray this can be resolved. I however have learned and gone over my interactions with Shanna and it appears she lacked patience and probably got aggravated she couldn’t reach me via my phone. Historically, if Shanna is honest I never ignored her or failed to return her calls. But they have three avenues to contact me. To try to cover their failure to use the other two resources by telling me an email wouldn’t go thru and letters were returned is absolutely falsely inaccurate, I know for a fact."

I left my unit wide open one day accidentally during business hours. I didn't realize until after hours. Came back the next morning and my items were still there. Highly recommend this life storage. Very clean and no theft"

"I have not been happy with the customer service since Life Storage purchased the property. Most days no one is here, no one answers the phone or returns calls when you leave a voicemail. Shana is consistently dismissive and annoyed by people of color. She is perfectly pleasant to non-colored clientele. I have witnessed it standing in the office and when she is escorting new customers around the facility."

"(Theft by manager) money was taken out of my storage unit by the manager of this location. Since life storage has taken over extra space storage the inside of the building is dirty trash in halls. The customer service suck the staff who work here are horrible. I witnessed someone living inside of the building. I thought this place was secure but it isn’t and the staff are horrible."
