"I walked in on July 8th and explained to Mickey that I'd be moving my stuff out on the morning of August 13th. He said there would be a 5 day grace period AFTER the 8th and I'd only have to pay for one month of rent. I would've never rented the unit if this WAS NOT the case. This morning I had to pay another $150 to get my things out because my 5 days was up. I explained my entire situation to Mickey and he said I'd be fine. Just such a slimy move by them. They know exactly what they did and made a college kid fork over $150 just to get his things and go when we had talked about this exact situation a month prior. Never go here unless you want to be scammed."
"This is a professionally run facility; our climate controlled space was always at an acceptable temperature, clean and easily accessible. Our standard space was the same.
The rental process was seamless, and the company provided immediate and thorough information about how to access the property, a map to my units, and instructions for online payment and management which was convenient and worked with no issues.
Checkout was equally straightforward. Finally the staff at this location are friendly and helpful, always able to answer questions and ready to assist. I would definitely use this location again."

3.5 stars for facility, as I haven't had many issues with bugs. My prior storage unit provided dolly's and had 24-hour access which was immensely helpful. This place offers neither.

I had a good initial experience renting my unit. Hilda was extremely friendly and the process smooth. I really liked her a lot!
When COVID hit, my finances changed and due to a new paycheck schedule (and amount), I was occasionally unable to meet the due date for this bill. *Never have I NOT paid, some months I just had no choice but to be late. I didn't complain but did have to deal with their daily calls and voicemails to remind me I haven't paid. **Side note—EVERY OTHER account I hold (car, rent, cc, even tolls!) has been very helpful and willing to work with me and my new income schedule.
The store manager Mickey is unwilling and in the few times I've conversed with him over the phone, he's spoken in a condescending manner. A few months ago I had a personal matter coincide with my bill (oddly enough it happened to be on my Birthday as well). Given my compliance with fees, I thought perhaps they'd forgive 1 month of late fees if I explain. The conversation was uncomfortable from the start, and his responses disparaging at best. i.e.,
Me: "Hello, my rent is late." (I explain my personal matter but before finished)--
Him: "Nope we can't. What's your unit number?"
Me (embarrassed): "I'm blanking out, it's 180-something"
Him: "We don't even have units that go to that number, heh (silence)."
Me: "Perhaps I've called the wrong location?"
Him: "I don't know if you've called the wrong location..."

Me: "OK it's the right location, last name is **"
Him: "No account under that name."
I do indeed have a unit here so I'm not sure why he said no account popped up. I rummaged to find my unit number, paid my bill + insurance + $21.60 late fee. He was happy, we said our goodbye's.
And so there you have the late fee saga.
I do feel bad giving a low review. I'm a believer in second chances when it comes to customer service, as we never know what someone else is going through at any given time. Unfortunately, after over a year with this Life Storage, it's how I feel and it's what I experiences here."
