"Peggy was fantastic. I unfortunately had to get the locks changed on my unit and she was so nice throughout the process. I was at the storage unit for about two hours waiting for that to be completed, and while some customers would have been upset, I felt more bad for her!
She was there by herself, only had one drill to use to cut through the lock and she had just done the same thing to another unit right before she got to mine. Her drill battery ended up dying and instead of saying she couldn't do it that day, she called in back up from another store to help. Tammy came with another drill and together they were able to get the original lock off. Both ladies were so positive and cared about giving me quality service. I was very happy with them and you can tell that they care about their customers.
Their drills don't seem to be powerful enough and they should have multiple drills on hand, not just one. Especially if they are by themselves. Get these ladies some upgraded tools so that life can be a little more simple for them. They deserve it!"

When I was moving out, this sweet lady named Peggy, who is also the store manager of this location helped me move my bed into my U-Haul and also asked me if there was anything else that I needed assistance with. "This storage unit should be free for all the pain it is. There's no one ever in the office. Every time I call the 800 number I get an answering machine and no one returns my calls. The day I signed my contract I was informed by email my unit was ready. It wasn't. In fact the only reason I did get my unit was because another manager from a different store was onsite to help someone break open a lock. When the actual manager arrived he was rude and acted like I was trespassing. There are no push carts. Haven't been for months. So, if you need to move some thing better hope you're able to bring your own or just take the time to move your stuff one by one. AND the front door has been broken for a month. Side door is open but then you have to enter and walk halfway across the building to get to the elevator. For what I pay, for what everyone pays here we should have carts and an on-site employee to help with issues. Like dried fecal matter in the hallways.
This place is in complete disarray"
"One of the worst experiences I've had with a storage unit facility. The office says they are open but have been closed for 3 days straight. Doors do not work, eleveators do not function, and there are no carts.
When calling customer service, they just say that "they should be there". Drove all the way from Houston to Austin just to pay 150$ for a locksmith to open the door. Left so many emails and voicemails, no response. DO NOT RENT HERE"
"Absolutely horrible. This location is not staffed making it challenging when there are issues, of which I’ve had many…good luck trying to find someone to help you. You’ll call around to the other locations and waste countless hours. There are a few lovely humans at the company like Angela at the Anderson location."

"I rented a storage unit using their rent now option online that gives u immediate access to ur unit as early as 6am verses waiting till 9:30 when they open. I did this solely on the fact that I had to have the haul I had rented back by 10am & that was the only way to have it unloaded & back on time. Except when I got to the unit & went to access the building with the access code I was given, my access was denied. I stood outside the storage for 3hrs before I was able to even get ahold of customer support, & stayed on hold with them until 9:45 when the office lady showed up to open the office. She then informed me that I had no access because the office was closed. That she had to authorize it in the office for me to gain access. I was also charged for a unit lock & was told that if I had a lock of my own; to simply return it to the front office for an immediate refund which was not the case. The lady in the office said she had to summit the paperwork to whatever dept it was & wait for them to respond to my request for refund of the lock. Which still have not been contacted in regards to the lock. As far as my entire experience goes, Life Storage. Cost me more time and money all the way around than it would've cost to hire someone to move & storage my belongings for me. I ended up being charged an additional day rental on the U-Haul truck, was charged a total of $67 for a month that is supposedly free, & as soon as all the paperwork was complete & payment was received, I got an email stating that the rent due on Nov 5th would now be $100, not the $86 that was showed online. I'm extremely depleased with the entire situation & will be getting my things out of there before my 1month is up, & will not ever do business with them again."
"Instructions were a bit unclear mainly because of the fact that this center’s office wasn’t open and there weren’t clear instructions or directions, so I was there for probably an hour in my car trying to figure it all out online after I had booked an appointment a week in advance. Although there were very few associates to help out around the units the month that I used it, they were very helpful and the storage space was kept very clean and the smell was very pleasant compared to others I’ve been to."
"I reserved a Storage The Unit online and got a confirmation call about the day I was supposed to move in and that day I went to the office at my schedule time there was nobody in the office just a sign on the door saying that they are closed and that they're helping another location in the call that number I called the number multiple times left multiple voicemails nobody responded so I just decided to leave and go the next day the next day same situation nobody was there but I called and the employee said they could be there in an hour super unprofessional and really inconvenient"
"They put up a sign saying that carts have been stolen, and because of this they won't be buying more. I called their customer service line and was told carts are a courtesy and not what I pay for. Bollocks. I refuse to do business a with cheap, lazy company that faults customers for not running themselves with any imagination."
"Got the smallest one, 5x5 it’s pretty tall so was able to fit everything! Love the courtesy carts and that it has centralized air conditioning throughout. Definitely worth the rate (which is v affordable) :)"
"I never thought a storage unit place would compel me to write a rating, but the Life Storage manger at this location is alarmingly appalling. There are passive aggressive copy paper-posters all around the place; he's so unprofessional it hurts. Not to mention both times I've needed help/service there's been this "BRB" sign on the door & he's brought in Taco Bell after one of these *essential* breaks. Just get a couple employees dude...I promise you no one is that crucial to a company that it can't function w/o them there."
"When we found out that our storage unit location on Congress was closing we were super sad as we just liked the place so... However we found the location on IH35 to be BETTER. Pedro, who is the manager, really went out of his way to make sure he answered all my questions and was so friendly and kind. The facility is very clean, think sparkly. "You are required to leave a hand written notice of intent to vacate. During Covid, the fact that I cannot empty the space and submit an online form to vacate the unit is ridiculous. I'll gladly change this review to 5 stars, if I was able to close out my account online or by the phone"
