A 10x20 storage space is the size of 2-3 Bedrooms. It holds furnishings and appliances for an average 1500 sq. ft. residence. It can also hold compact vehicles depending on width and length.

"I called they booked me at the location and told me the price. When I arrived they told me that I would have to either buy insurance or show proof of home owners insurance. Well, I don't carry that on me. They first told me that they cannot allow me to rent without one of them, basically meaning, I need to leave and come back with proof or buy their insurance. I think the guy who booked me should have told me about that, before I came over. Luckily the guy at the front let it go for the time being and I could un-pack my trailer full of stuff.

"Very disappointed in the size of there carts that are there for using to move stuff. They will basically hold 2 medium sized boxes. I thank for as much as they charge they could invest in a couple larger carts.
I am 140 feet in so it is going to take a lot of trips to get my 10x10 unit filled. I guess I will need to go buy a cart to move my furniture.
When looking at storage units be sure to ask the question on cart size. I have rented from other facilities and they had big enough ones to move furniture so I assumed that would be the case here. I was wrong."

Mike was disgruntled, short, and showed ZERO interest in providing any type of customer service whatsoever.
Prior to choosing these units I read through some other reviews and saw raving reviews about customer service just to experience piss poor service.
He was constantly looking over my wife and I's shoulder, anytime we had a question he had a short and derisive response the entire time. When moving out of our locker we had a decorative mirror break (that we swept snd cleaned up) and asked politely if we could throw it away on premise. We were respectful of the no dumping signs but didn't want to drive across town with huge charts of glass on my wife's lap as our vehicles were packed to the brim. Mike responded "No. Now way, take it away and toss it".
He had both ZERO regard for our safety OR common sense. He was passive aggressive and told us that we would be fined if we left the locker unlocked while it was being rented (despite being empty).
He never once welcomed us, never once thanked us, all we received was negativity and attitude. Considering moving is always a stressful time and process, one would think you'd welcome your paying customers and provide exceptional service for such a low maintenance role.
Absolutely disgusted at how he treated us.
Other than this, the lockers were just fine, safe, and secure."

First day we rented the unit there was a lock on it from already and we had to get an extra day on our uhaul and get additional help for moving the next day. If you spend money on a unit there should not be a lock on it from someone else. There was supposed to be a credit on our account to compensate us for the expense of getting a uhaul for an extra day and getting movers to help another day. This credit was approved by their regional manager but never made it to our account. Come move out time since they never applied the credit there was a lien on the account and they put an additional lock on our unit. I had to pay the balance that was supposed to be credited just to get them to unlock our unit so we could get out of there.The staff is utterly incompetent and no one ever answers the phone. "Update: Nothing. The district manager has attempted to call once, and I have called him multiple times. I have called the customer service 866#. For the record, Ash, the temp on site from another location was very helpful, I believe that is the only reason I got the call from Kris.
So, I called the insurance commissioner. They agree, it seems we have a case of insurance fraud. I will be filling the complaint today.
Next is Fox 7, KVUE, and KXAN if I cannot get someone to help me. I hope no one else is having as much of a problem as I have with their belongings.

They ate the edges of a plastic table, ate through the plastic on freezer packs and windshield washer fluid to consume the contents.
The most devastating is the damage to our furniture. It is irreplaceable, and the attention or concern on behalf of LifeStorage to date has been absent. I and my wife have on multiple occasions expressed concern, and a desire for resolution on the matter.
What is worse, is they appear to be attempting to not only commit insurance fraud, but also have us accept only $500 for the damages to some very expensive furniture. Let me briefly explain:
When LifeStorage took over, we had insurance through CubeSmart. It is my understanding LifeStorage intended to send a renewal for the new insurance, but that never happened, my wife and I both have checked our email archives, no notice. They continued to collect our additional payments, sometimes in person, sometimes online, with no notice of insurance being lacking.
Now that we have damages, they want us to sign an insurance application that dates back over 2 months and they also want us to submit a claim to "Xercor" insurance services. The problem is, on the initial declaration page, it indicates they will only pay $500 (less the $100 deductible) for rodent damage. The storage EVEN SUBMITTED A CLAIM ON OUR BEHALF TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE!!!
So, AFTER our 19th century table and chairs, redwood custom chairs, and other furniture is damaged, we are supposed to just accept THEIR NEGLIGENCE to PROVIDE a SAFE and PEST FREE STORAGE ENVIRONMENT?!?!
The customer service / storage attendant even ADMITTED that there was others that have complained in that building, and that she "needed to do something about it" but "I just transferred here, I am kind of knew." "This will help me learn how to handle these problems in the future..."
I have asked NUMEROUS times to be called or emailed, and have had no correspondence to date, hence this review. We are not looking for anything more than communication and fair restitution for damages caused by negligence and poor communication on behalf of LifeStorage.

"I'm a local business owner and have been with this facility since the day it changed names from cube smart to life storage. If I ran my business like life storage I would be out of business.
Before I moved in I pointed out they had locks that could be left unlocked by customers and they replaced every door lock in the building. I was told I would have 24 hour access, I was told my rates won't go up. I was also told I would have access to electricity for a shop light, now they want to charge me for installing electrical and don't want me to use the outlet right next to my locker. Broken promise after broken promise...
When I set up my locker a month prior to moving in the price was -$81.00, the day I moved in it was $88.00 and now 6 months later it's $99.00.. they lowered the insurance cost but raised the locker rate again.. my insurance went up twice since being with them in 6 months... don't trust their pricing it changes with the wind.
Now let's talk about security, dozens of times I have been there and the front gate is open and pedestrian door is open. It does not matter what time of day either they just leave the place unsecured. The staff says it's because the wind and rain the gate don't work... (how about you put in a gate that works then?)
