"I agree that Life Storage facility in Murrells Inlet is clean, etc, etc. However, Life Storage purchased the facility from Extra Space who built it back in 2018-2019. I contracted for a large space in late 2019 when it was still owned by Extra Space. Since Life Storage has taken control of the facility they have consistently raised my rental rates every year for 3 years, to the point where with the latest raise I am now paying approximately 75% more than just 3 years ago. When I challenge the management, they tell me that there is shortage of storage space here so they can basically charge whatever the market will tolerate. So pretty much telling me that if I dont like it I can move my stuff out and they can rent to someone else. No way they can justify that much increase based on their operating costs. Just a money grab."

"I purchased tape and some boxes and I was disappointed in the quality- the tape did not hold (I had also used my own tape that was much better) and the boxes seemed a little flimsy. Otherwise, completely satisfied."

"Have to reserve a space online to get the special price. Went to the facility but price was higher. Then we signed up online but had to go back in to verify ID. Would have been nice to do it all the first time. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Unit and lock we’re waiting as promised."

From the first phone call I made to arriving to rent the unit, Tom made the process very smooth, & he helped with everything. After I realized I needed another unit, I talked to Tom & again he helped me & made sure I had the best unit at the best price!! When I went to rent the unit yesterday, Chris was there, & he & Tom helped me with everything I needed!!! "In my 40 years of working in customer service I have never had as good an experience as I have had with Tom at Life Storage in Murrells Inlet. He bent over backwards (and sideways and crossways and slantways etc) to put up with my constant changes of what I needed and when. He was always pleasant and eager to help me. If everyone in the customer service world were to learn a few things from Tom we'd all be a lot happier. Life Storage seems to have the right formula, or at least the right people."
