A 10x20 storage space is the size of 2-3 Bedrooms. It holds furnishings and appliances for an average 1500 sq. ft. residence. It can also hold compact vehicles depending on width and length.

"If you’re looking for long term storage I would go elsewhere. In the two years I was here with them one of the elevators was broken half of the time. When I went to move I came in two weeks before to find out what I needed to do. I was told not to make my payment to just come in on the day I moved out and pay the prorated amount because they don’t give refunds. I told them I was moving out on the 31st and my payment was due on the 25th. I was reassured that everything would be fine. I ended up moving out a day sooner and went to pay so I could close everything out and was told that I had to do it in a 7 day period, which I was on day 6 so I was still in that window. Then it was oh I told you it had to be within 5 days. I ended up having to pay more than I would of if I had just paid my normal rent in the first place. Also they raise their rates by $9-$12 every year so in the beginning it looks like you’re getting a good deal but you’re paying astronomical prices by the end."
"My mother downsized recently & I thought I could store her extra stuff at my house. After tripping over it for a month, I decided that she needed a storage space. We had rented 2 storage spaces at Life Storage for her in the past & had a good experience so I went with them again. I completed the paperwork online &, when I showed up to move her stuff in, I realized that I had signed up for a space at the other Life Storage location in my town. Lexus helped me to get a refund from the other location & to secure a space at my intended location. I would give her 10 stars if I could! She patiently dealt with me & my mistake. "I am not a rental customer at Life Storage but have won several storage units from various locations at auction. Today at the Westmoreland Rd location, in Cornelius, NC (#371), I met Michaela, an assistant manager trainee. She was friendly and efficient. Although she had never dealt with an auction customer but promptly called an associate from another location on the telephone and had them walk her through the process. She caught on quickly and had me on my way to the unit in just a few minutes with a smile on her face. I think Michaela will make a great assistant manager and maybe someday, general manager, for your company. Thanks, Michaela!"
"This location is always dirty. The place smells and has seeped into all my boxes and containers. The temperature is over 80 and not climate controlled. The floors are never cleaned. The elevators are disgusting. The handi-movers are never cleaned and there are only 3. You are lucky if one is available. They raised my unit price in the middle of a pandemic and said it was because of demand. They have lots of red locks on units people can't pay their storage rent. The parking lot and sidewalks are full of glass. No sanitizer or wipes to use for the elevator buttons. Only one elevator works. People will hover around the doors without masks. One woman was smoking at the door blowing smoke every where without consideration of other people. Wear masks and gloves! Use shoes you won't wear in the house, sanitize your vehicle after! BE CAREFUL! They have a sign by the elevator to wear a mask but nothing else is done to keep you safe! They received PPP from government but are raising storage prices. Bring sanitizer, wear your gloves and face mask. Be extra careful!"

"I paid for the month of March and vacated my unit on the 5th of March. I came back on the 7th to sweep out my unit and was denied access in. I thought the unit was mine until the end of the month. It is your requirement to submit a letter that I'm vacating the unit, I had not done that at that time. If it is your policy to require a letter, you should not have locked me out until you received it. I feel you owe me a refund for the time I paid for.

"My biggest complaint is the carts provided to move personal belongings from your vehicle to the storage unit are not well maintained. I have been there several times to move my belongings into storage and the wheels on the carts have giant flat spots. I cannot tell you how many times I have had my personal belonging fall off the cart. Unfortunately, I don't have much other choice as some stuff just can't be carried. I think this is something that could easily be resolved if it was better maintained."
