"Office staff is sneaky and difficult to work with. Our rent was raised $19 with no notice. They kept claiming they gave us a notice. We have been there since 2012. At the beginning the place was well maintained. After sold to Life Storage the price kept going up. The reason we vacated was due to price increase. On the electronic form they filled out and had my husband sign they checked we no longer needed it. Not true. They new we moved out because of their last $19 increase. Sneaky."

She doesnt control rent raises. She cant get things fixed any faster." So what is her job then.... to be rude to customers that have concerns about their belongings. She had the audacity to tell me "well has your stuff been stolen yet...." really.... no but I pay for a secure, easily accessible unit. I wouldn't complain about rent raises if things were being maintained and fixed in a timely manner. I will be moving all my things asap!

"Watch out for "teaser rates". After four months, they sent an email advising they were raising the rent on our locker from $128 to $144 per month.(12.5% increase). No reason given. Our contract states "Owner/manager reserves the right to review the terms of this rental agreement, including any charges and fees, with 30 day advance notice to customer". Guess they reviewed my agreement and figured they could jack up our rent now that we spent time and money to move into what we thought was a decent place we could afford. Business model appears to be wait until customers are moved in (trapped) and then jack up the rent!!"

"I was in the middle of a move and found I needed more space. I booked using the 800# . That lady was very kind and helpful. Couldn't pay at that time as everything was scattered. She advised me to go and see Demetria at the office and she would help me out. I was treated as nuisance from the moment I walked in the door. She then proceeded to charge me $40 more than what I was originally quoted. Told me I was reguired to purchase their lock. (Even though a majority of the ones I passed did not have their lock) When I said I felt she should honor the price I was quoted she got aggressive saying she wouldn't rent to me if I didn't stop arguing. I had half a dozen co-workers and my bosses waiting out side to unload. I was stuck and she knew it. Then proceeded to not start the paperwork for at least 10 minutes as she continued to chastise me as one would a child. She tried to further intimate that she had cameras on me as if I was some kind of threat while I'm standing there not believing this interaction was happening at all. I work with people both in person and by phone as part of my job occasionally in difficult situations. It would never even occur to me to treat even my most difficult customers in this manner. Finally I never received my bill for the next month. Went to their website to see if I could figure out what was going on and it said I was being charged a late fee of $8 because I wasn't notified with a bill or invoice and it was 2 days past the cut off. Best advice? Don't go in there expecting to pay the amount you were guoted. Go somewhere else if you can. The other reviews are not wrong about the temperature inside the building. I'm not one that usually leaves a review unless I received exceptional service and I want to make sure management etc see it. I've never left a negative review before but I felt justified on this one."

"It feels like the AC isn't working as well as if expected, especially on the top floor. I understand climate control is swap coolers, however and 8° Delta is pretty sad for that claim. 95° indoors based on my thermometer, recording highs and lows, lowest temp seen was 82° and it's 103° outside. Gonna be interesting to see what the high temp summer shows when the temp Delta from outside is only 8° at 4pm in the afternoon in June."

"I have had a storage unit for 4 years at this facility and i have for the most part, have had a good experience. Staff has always been friendly the whole time.
That being said, they constantly raise your rate. Recently my rate jumped up $18 per month!!! Reason given: Monthly rate has increased due to increased demand in your area... If that's not the most messed up reason for those of us who already rent a space for a rent increase? But hey, at least they're honest in stating their reason for fleecing you for more money! Says a lot about them that I have seen my rate go up 3 times in the past 3 years. One more increase and my rent will be DOUBLE the rate it was 4 years ago. My guess is they'll continue to do so until I've had enough and decide to go elsewhere to store my belongings. Losing a long-standing paying customer because "increased demand" is ridiculous. Especially when you'll never get a notification that they'll be lowering your rate because the demand has decreased. Today, i started calling other storage facilities...Apparently other facilities have not received the report that the demand has increased because their prices look better then what my rate will be in 30 days here at LifeStorage. Within 20 days they'll have a unit available because they've increased mine by half yet the service, the unit dimensions have remained the same...
