"I went to Store # 572 (Pullman in Costa Mesa) to meet an Offer Up buyer from out of the local area to buy a rare vintage chair I had in storage on May 17th at 12:00.  This is the story of what ensued. 1. The front lobby is locked for both myself and the buyer.   2. I then drive around to the back--Entering the back drive lot, the drive is still full of construction mud and has hardly any parking (this has been the case for almost 13 months now and it sucks to have to get a car wash after every trip to the facility.  Like cling on grey mud). My unit is on the 2nd floor.   3. NONE of the elevators were working.   4. After that we went to the stairwell closest to the office, and walked up to the 2nd flight landing-- it was locked.   5. We went back down to the office and the interior door to the office is also locked.  Luckily, Jose (by no fault of his own) heard us.   6. We all walk back up to the 2nd-floor landing and Jose tried every key he had, and found he did not have the key.   7. We all then walked all the way to the far corner store landing and walk up to that 2nd-floor stairwell door.   8. We had to walk through a puddle of human urine to get there.   9. THAT door was also locked.   10. At this point Jose did everything he was enabled to do but that was not enough.   11. I lost $550 in the sale as my buyer left after this fiasco of unprofessional maintenance of a facility that keeps creeping the monthly dues up after I had initially signed on for around $80 monthly. 12. For MONTHS the entry point to the units has been a muddy mess and this is not the first time we have walked through human excrement in the stairwell.   13. The only ray of light was Jose and his efforts to try to work in such bad conditions.  I got the sense that he was very frustrated over the whole thing as well. What a huge disappointment.  I've also contacted the BBB. I'm moving."

Along with assorted other trash such as fast food bags, soda cups, etc. Trash around the entry area, in elevator, and hallways. I am leaving as soon as possible. "This place has really gone downhill since it changed hands from Magellan Storage to Life Storage. All of a sudden there's price increases every year, and not just little price increases. You might think that with price increases you'd be getting a better facility but that's not the case. There's always trash scattered throughout the facility now (inside and outside) because all the trash cans/dumpsters have been removed The push carts that used to be provided as a convenience have been taken away. Storage units are getting broke into often, might have something to do with the fact that the gate doesn't always work. Luckily my unit has only gotten broken into once in which apparently bandits broke into a whole bunch of storage units, unfortunately many things were stolen, things exceeding several thousand dollars. At least they have cameras there right? Well, yes they have some but good luck trying to get them to actually go through the footage or getting them to try to prosecute the criminals, not gonna happen. The door on my unit remains damaged and difficult to use after about a year and there's no interest in them fixing it nor all the other units that remain damaged. And if you need customer service, good luck trying to get a hold of anyone as they really cut down their staff so there is only 1 person working there at a time (even pre-Covid), that person can't be in the office often because they have other things to do around the facility. Couple other things that don't happen anymore that used to happen during Magellan Storage, complimentary food trucks for tenants once in a while, garage sales. Should I talk about all the rat poop that covers everything now? They do have a great location though? So 2 stars"

"I would give this place zero stars if possible even go negative since they hired a new manager and got rid of the guy who actually took pride in what he did. I was informed by Nicolas that they accidentally sold my unit. When I confronted Samantha about this her attitude was so cavalier and blasé you would think she was deciding what she was going to order at Starbucks or contemplating the time it takes for paint to dry. You accidentally sell my things without any notice, you refused to help me get my stuff back,  you make empty promise after empty promise and yet I should be grateful?  It's practically impossible to even get a return phone call from anyone at this location or even the area manager whom calls from a blocked number doesn't fulfill her promises real professional right? You do not care that my identity was stolen because of your inept manger and total negligence. You've made no effort to get my birth certificate Social Security card credit card debit cards and mail back inside the unit contains all of my clothing other than the clothes on my back? Is it normal that you have not extended any sort of courtesy for your total ineptitude and negligence. I highly advise to stay away from this place. Samantha is as useless as the pimple on my ass, particularly as she told me "that's just life storage" As an explanation for why she didn't call me back. Samantha makes empty  promises in order to use theft by deception in order to defraud you and steal possessions. I'm certain once she realized what was in there after entering and cutting  off my lock without any notice or even a phone call. Can you imagine having your entire wardrobe except for what you're wearing gone? All of your legal documents gone, personal and private information in the hands of other people, your medical records family photos etc.? Replacement value of my wardrobe alone is close to $100,000 I'm sure Samantha's partner is enjoying the custom-made Brioni suits? The 14 pairs of Ferragamo shoes? Yes I know size 13 doesn't make them easy to sale or wear however they were mine not yours to begin with! Then how about the two dozen custom-made shirts from Saks fifth Avenue? Personally, I like the French cuffs with my silver cuff links and the Pannerai watch... The  countless luxury and designer items  from Zegna, Brioni, Pucci, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermès etc... You realize I needed theses things to go to work? Valentino slacks that I just bought, or the D squared and Moschimo items with the tags still on them? How about those Brunello Cucinelli sweaters?  And all my dirty underwear despite being from 2 Exist they were mostly dirty as I hadn't done laundry in weeks that's why there was a new box of laundry detergent next to them. Did you like the Giuseppe Zanotti shoes? You realize that those were almost $2k? Thanks Samantha for all of the problems you've caused me. It's not like I didn't have enough on my plate already. And to whomever has my things you should also think Samantha, because many of those new items would not be there if it hadn't been for her suggesting I put more items inside right before she "accidentally" sold I mean stole I mean sold everything. Whoever has my things are you enjoying coffee from the new never used or opened Technivorm coffee maker, i'm sure you already discovered the Kona coffee that was $100 a pound and the coffee grinder....   There also was the Tumi luggage, the Louis Vuitton luggage, bedding and linens, two bikes of which one was a carbon fiber Specialized valued at $6k less than a year old, all different Apple products, i'm glad you're enjoying the latest technology they offer and some very expensive odds and ends I've kept to remind myself of certain places and people. So you lie, you screw up, and you want me to take the loss? What a great position to take when you destroy someone's life in a fairly epic manner like this. I guess the law doesn't matter to you and given what you've done and shown me by threatening to have me arrested for trespassing when I attempted to make a police report shows you have no work ethic which everyone already knows but you are also potentially a sociopath and I know according to you it's not your problem... Make sure you do as much cover-up as you can in order to justify these egregious "accidents" Samantha Ironically the area manager informed me There was no late charges or any extra types of fees due to Covid and you knew this all along, yet you lied as I waited for a call for 2 months as I checked in at least every other week sometimes daily... yet why when I was there two weeks prior and I saw my lock missing you told me that nobody had broken in that you had cut the lock off and insisted that I put more items in the unit. Theft is wrong no matter how you justify it and Samantha Bixby Life Storage as well as the auction company that didn't do their due diligence are all guilty of theft by conversion"

"I accidentally maid a payment on the wrong unit and tried to resolve this issue. I spoke to Marco the property manager and he said he would handle it. A week and a half later still nothing done. I was frustrated because obviously he didn't do his job. When I said that he became hotty and said that I created extra work for him. Excuse me! Things happen on accident and you promised me that you would handle it. He hangs up on me and says if I go there to resolve it that he would contact the police. What!? My business stuff is in there. I'm not late. I am going to file a police report on the property!!! This is crazy! He lied saying they don't have a regional manager and found out they do. Big mess! I would never in my life talk to my customers the way he did. He needs to get fired! Hotty man with a major attitude problem. The previous property manager was more professional. Heaven forbid you make one mistake online for your unit. BBB should be contacted in this case since they list it on their site. I cannot store my business stuff in there with the way they handle their ghetto customer service attitude. Stay away from this place! Customer service is impossible to deal with. Just a big warning from a business owner."

I saw mice scampering out of a lockea few doors away . Even though there's mouse traps all over the place it's still infested. Remember that old movie called "Willard" about a guy who was into hoarding pet rats? He would be in heaven if he had a unit at Life Sucks Storage. Can't wait to get out of there !"

I know, I know .... not the smartest way to use YELP but in this case it worked out well for me! If I read those old 1 star reviews first I probably would not have come here! So I guess I got lucky doing it my way because my move in experience was amazingly easy and I don't think you can find a nicer, more accommodating office staff team then Barbara and Reigh!(probably spelled her name wrong lol sorry Reigh). "Three months ago I went to my storage and noticed the lights in hall directly across from my unit were out.  I went to the office and reported it.  I returned again about a month and a half later (on 12-14-2019) to find that the same lights still had not been fixed.  I again went to the office and spoke to Barbara (the "Store Manager"), and she told me that the company they hired to replace them hadn't gotten to my row yet.  Three weeks later (on 01-05-2020) I went back to my unit and they still have not been replaced.  Again I spoke to Barbara, and she said they had the lights in a storage unit.   These lights are the only means of getting any light in my unit.  Without them it is very difficult to see my things.  I can't believe it takes more than three months to fix these lights.  I think this management is doing a horrible job at keeping the facilities working properly.  On top of that, from the few times I have dealt with the manager, she always seems to have a bad attitude and poor customer service (unless you are a potentially new customer). This place has gotten so much worse since I first moved in.  I now regret my decision."

"If anyone has a storage unit at Life Storage on Pullman/Paularino and Redhill you might want to check your unit for a break in. Mine was broken into AGAIN sometime between Sept 9th and the 21st. This time was much worse. You can't tell by looking at the lock because they either pick the lock (which by the way also means the insurance will not cover any loss without evidence of forced entry) or they go in through a metal wire grid above which would be easy to do with a cordless drill. Especially since there is no security they don't need to rush out of there. I know a lot of people aren't in their units on a regular basis and apparently the security is non-existent after 10 pm these days,  the only way to know is by going there yourself. I have reported this information to the police."

"Was treated poorly from the moment I walked in. The front desk guy first words out of his mouth were there's four people ahead of you and just walked away. I looked around and no one else was in the lobby. I patiently sat that for about 10 minutes as he continued to completely blow me off. Finally got up and asked him a question about the operating hours and he gave me completely different hours than they told me over the phone. His response was yea...we tell them not to say that. Got up and walked out. Thanks for wasting my time. This place is joke"

"I am totally delighted with my new storage space on the second floor with skylights overhead. Staff has been exceedingly helpful, and I appreciate the help with the locked carts I received in the beginning before I brought over my own cart to facilitate moving stuff in and out. Your facility is easy to get to as it is located in my circle of travels. Overall, just simply excellent."

"Gotta give a huge SHOUT OUT to Samantha who was able to solve an issue in ONE day after I had been working w/ others at Life Storage on the same issue for the previous MONTH!  Samantha is a star and I hope she is recognized for her exemplary customer service.  Life Storage is a clean & well lit facility, my only criticism (which Life Storage cannot control) is that there can be a lot of sketchy random men hanging out/loitering around the perimeter and the parking lot and it makes me nervous (as a woman alone accessing my storage cage).  I hope there are tons of surveillance cameras working so my imminent murder will be captured on film and given to the police ha ha *sigh*."

"We stored a few things here while we were in the middle of a move. Our items were there for 30 days and in that time a generator was stolen out of our unit.  No clue how this happened and based on suspicion it had to be an inside job.  Who else would know what was in there.  There are cameras and no one was around when it was all stored. Customer service here is also awful as they have only one Employee now (maybe why others just quit) and he was on lunch when we came to remove our stuff from the unit. You can't get the rolling carts unless you get a key from the guy at the front. The whole situation was awful and now we have a claim out for our $900 generator. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE."
