Climate Considerations

Locals know that seasonal dust storms, called haboobs, are a real possibility. Quite the phenomenon, these summer-season dust storms roll into the city and leave nearly everything covered in a blanket of dust. For your convenience, we have dust covers available for purchase in each of our Phoenix store offices.

On average, there are 299 sunny days per year in Phoenix. The weather is dry and warm from December to May and it is very hot from July through September. How hot is hot? Most Phoenix summer days reach 99°F, and it's not unusual to see temps top the 110s, making the city's climate a factor to seriously consider when choosing your own self storage unit. Luckily, many of our storage facilities throughout the Phoenix Metro area offer air-conditioned storage units. These air-conditioned storage units are typically regulated at 80°F year-round to keep you, and the items inside of the storage units, cool.

Climate-controlled storage is ideal for storing temperature-sensitive items in your unit such as antiques, electronics, and even cases of wine. In fact, Life Storage customers can enjoy the added bonus of a cooling mist bay as they load and unload their items at facility #874 in Chandler, our climate-controlled wine storage facility.

Helpful Tip for Movers:

If you've rented a large moving truck for move-in day, be sure to ask a Life Storage store manager if it'll clear our gates so you can unload without any unexpected issues. Some of our facilities are not navigable by 18-wheelers and large trucks.

Commercial Customers Welcome!

Looking for a place to store your inventory? Whether you're taking advantage of our nationwide inventory management capabilities through our subsidiary company, Warehouse Anywhere, or strictly looking for self storage space in Phoenix, you won't be the first to trust your inventory to a Life Storage unit.

Commercial customers can take advantage of our conference room and business center at facility #874 where we offer free Wi-Fi and access to a PC. We even provide free color printing to customers and mailbox rentals to make it your one-stop shop for your business needs.

Document shredding services are also available to customers at all of our Phoenix facilities. Speak to a Life Storage store manager for more details.

Phoenix is Growing, Fast

Phoenix is big. How big? About the size of the state of Delaware, actually. The Phoenix Metro Area comprises more than 20 towns and cities including Mesa, Glendale, and Scottsdale. Plus, Phoenix has been named the fastest-growing city in the country, according to data from the Census Bureau reported by Phoenix Business Journal. Within a single year Phoenix greeted 25,288 new residents. And while the abundant sunshine is more than enough reason to move to Phoenix, much of the population growth is credited to the local economy where a range of industries, from manufacturing to big tech firms, are headquartered. Arizona-based companies that call Phoenix home include Banner Health, ON Semiconductor, Sprouts Farmers Market, Knight Transportation, PetSmart, GoDaddy, Hyundai Engineering, and DriveTime Automotive Group.
