It’s not too early to start looking for the perfect gifts for your family and friends. When someone takes the time to find a personalized gift, the thoughtfulness is always appreciated. A great practice is to keep your ears peeled around my family members. They’re bound to mention something they need or something they wish they had. Another great rule of thumb is to never give gifts that you wouldn’t like to receive yourself.
Below are a few quick holiday gifts ideas for those people on your list that you may not be so sure about. From traditional to modern, there’s something there for everyone. Have a party to attend? Be sure to check out our favorite DIY gifts for hostesses.

1. Bake Some Cookies
Are you a great baker? Even if you’re not, you can always pick up a tube of cookie dough from your local grocery store. I don’t know too many people who would turn down a batch of soft chocolate chip or sugar cookies. Bake your cookies, let them cool, and put them in a nice tin. Presentation is everything.
2. Frame a Portrait
If you’ve been on vacation lately or added a new addition to the family, a framed portrait of the whole crew is something that most family and friends will treasure. My mother and grandmother are always asking me to send pictures of the family. They want to see how big the kids are getting and make sure I’m taking care of myself. If the recipient is sentimental, a framed portrait is a great choice.
3. Pick up a Beverage of Choice
Pick up a bottle of apple cider or wine and add to a woven basket for a rustic touch. Up the ante by adding beef, cheese, and crackers to make your gift perfect for a picnic in the park. Make sure to add an elegant card, and you’ve got a gift that’s both simple and classy. Before you purchase wine in bulk, read our guide on how to store different types of wine properly.
4. Buy a Board Game
Family game night is a big deal at my house. We have a designated space for games and our children are always asking us to pull out one and play with them. They even like playing games with each other! A favorite at my house is a picture charades game. My youngest son can play because there is no reading required, all you do is act out the picture silently. Honestly, it’s a lot of fun! Board games are a great way to create lasting memories.
5. Polaroids are Not Obsolete, Yet
Does your friend or family member love taking pictures in general? A polaroid camera is great for the instant gratification of having a photo immediately. These small pictures are great for putting in your car, at work desk, or to take photos for a vision board. It’s amazing how a quick glance at someone you care for can brighten your mood. I have one and it made me remember how much fun it was to take a picture and hold it in my hands!
6. Flowers or Plants are Ideal for Last-Minute Gifting
Inject some holiday cheer into your recipient’s home by gifting them with a plant or fresh bouquet of flowers. You can decorate and personalize this gift using mason jars or custom terracotta pots. Make sure to buy them in an attractive vase or planter. I’m sure they’ll appreciate how the plants or flowers add a colorful and festive element to their home.
Giving our family and friends gifts provides an excuse for us to show the people we care about most how much they mean to us. The kids love the gifts, but they also enjoy the warm and loving environment that having family and friends around provides. I hope you enjoyed these gift ideas and don’t forget to print out theses gorgeous gift tag printables for all your gifts this holiday season!
